Tooloulous

We went here for brunch. The wait was typical for brunch (about 25 minutes).

The portion sizes are very Anerican (for a Canadian restaurant). I got the cowboy fricassee, and I really enjoyed it (it had a mix of bacon, sausage, egg and potatoes, with a side of pancakes).

Lady Saigon (Spark SF)

This is the second time I had food from this food truck. I really like the noodles from it. The meet (both the hockey and pork) is just ok. Admittedly if there were no noodles, I probably would not get food from here.

Also, one should note that I think the food made my stomach upset :/

KAKA Ayce

So yea, this place was definitely worth the $35 (Canadian). It had most everything I wanted in an all you can eat sushi place (had sashimi, rolls, cooked food. The only thing it didn’t have was deep fried scallops).

The main “featured” dish that they had were the Torched sushi (which is the first two pictures from below). I would order everything again.

Sino

I’ve probably been to this place over 15 times, a and it usually does not disappoint (although it isn’t super cheap).

To start, I got a lychee martini (which they make really good at this place).

For the mains, we got the dimsum collection (and although it is slightly Americanized, I’m a fan), garlic noodles with chicken (getting it with beef is much better from previous experience), and chow fun with beef. With the exception of the chicken comment, I would get everything again.

Shangri-La Vegetarian Restaurant

A vegetarian friend was visiting, and we were hungry, so we decided to try this place out.

We got the hot and sour soup, crispy chow main, vegetarian spring rolls, some “beef” dish, vegetarian dumplings, and some “tofu” dish. I would get everything again but the chow main (and possibly not get the tofu dish as it was a bit salty for my taste).

La Mar

We went to this restaurant for a friend’s birthday. I would come back to this place, and probably order a couple of the same dishes (given that when I went there, I didn’t have that much of an appetite).

For appetizer’s we had the beef and chicken empanada’s. I was expecting the beef to be better, but the chicken one was really good.

For a drink, I got a mimosa and lychee martini (I was surprised they had lychee). I will say, I wish the lychee martini was a bit sweeter.

For my main, I got the Ariz con Pollo (roasted chicken). It was good. I remember being a really big fan of the rice underneath it (and the chicken wasn’t too dry).

One thing I will get next time (although it is a bit pricey) is the adobo. A friend had it, and it was better than the dish I got.

Martins West Gastropub

Straight off, I thought the food and the drinks were really great. The food portions is a bit small for the price, but still I was very satisfied.

For drinks I got a martini (not sure of the name, but it had grapefruit, and it it was still very sweet), and something called a new fashion (a sweet twist to an old fashion. It had some Apple liqueur in it).

For food, we got one appetizer, and three shareable plates. The appetizer was wings (which without the sauce, I thought they were cooked really good, not dry at all). The shareables were an octopus salad (also cooked just right), Mac and cheese, and pork belly toast.

Sundance Steak House

Definitely would come back to this place, especially for Happy Hour (which ends at 6pm).

For drinks, I ordered the lemon drop (it was so good I got 4 of them!). They’re only $6 during happy hour.

For the appetizers ($8 each), the shrimp cocktail and the calamari were great choices.

For the main, I got the $30 prime rib with the clam chowder. The clam chowder was great, it the prime rib was just ok (I’ve had better). I think I would order something else next time.

Red Lobster

Decided to go and check out Red Lobster.

Of course the biscuits were just as delicious as before.

The Caesar salad is what I remembered (not quality, but a good a appetizer to have a bit of).

For the main, I got the shrimp sea side trio with a side of lobster mashed potatoes. I gotta say, the lobster mashed potatoes wasn’t the greatest, and the shrimp Alfredo was not as good as I remembered (I think it wasn’t as creamy as usual). The garlic shrimp and breaded shrimp were as expected.

With that said, I’d still go back to Red Lobster.

La Victoria Taqueria

This place I definitely would not go back to.

I ordered the Quesadilla (I got the super flour quesadilla). First, as pictured below, it basically is made like a burrito (and I really don’t like burritos). Second, I think it was just stuffed with too much things. Third, definitely not worth the price.

If I did ever go back, I would try the super corn quesadilla (mainly since I’m curious if it would be what I consider a normal quesadilla, and also it half the price of the one I ordered).
