Hakkoku

Last dinner before flying out in Tokyo, and this restaurant did not disappoint.

This restaurant is located in Ginza, and it was a 25 course omakase meal (first one I’ve ever had that had 25 courses)!

The menu below describes what we had. Pictures are sort of in order of the menu. I think my call outs are the hairy crab, sweet shrimp, toro (had both a very lean and very fatty ones), and the uni. Didn’t have any salmon, but honestly that was ok. Also everything in general was great. No bad call outs. And the egg at the end was basically like a flan.

Also tried two different Sakes. Both amazing. They seemed light and didn’t have that after taste you usually get with Sake (and the last picture below is a $500 bottle of sake, which was from a person that owns 22 restaurants and invests heavily in start ups). And of course had a few Yamazaki whiskies.

JaBistro

An excellent sushi place in downtown Toronto. Food and drinks were amazing, and worth the $$$$

We got the Omakase fixed menu (only $125 Canadian). It included a range of sashimi, nigiri, and aburi sushi (torched rolls). It also came with a desert.

We also got some extra dishes on the side like octopus, and a sea bass.

For drinks, tried the washi which was great. They also have a nice selectionof Japanese whisky.

Would 100% come back.

Kazu Nori

Grabbed lunch here (it was a 12 minute walk from our hotel in downtown LA). Gotta say I would go back (and didn’t get any stomach issues after!).

For drinks I got a Sapporo light. For food, got the 4 hand roll combo (came with Toro, yellowtail, NZ Sea bream, and crab hand rolls). I also added salmon sashimi, and a lobster hand roll. Honestly, it was all good. I would say the lobster hand roll and salmon sashimi were my favorite, but I also dislike the crab (which was the opposite opinion of some people as they thought it was to mayo ish).
