We went to this ramen place after a long night out at Womb.
Overall, the ramen was great, and the middle thickness is what I wanted. Would definitely go back here again.
We went to this place for lunch in Shibuya.
They have a limited menu, and they only accept cash (you have to pay before you get seated also).
I got a highball (of course), and a miso ramen with extra pork and stir fried vegetables (which were basically just stir fried bean sprouts). The noodles seemed home made, but they were the thicker kind (not the thinner ones).
Leaving the restaurant I would have said I would have came back. But I did have a stomach issue later on. So now not sure.
We came to this place as our first meal in Shibuya (it was a recommendation from a friend).
Although it is conveyor belt sushi, there weren’t too many items on the conveyor belt (you mainly ordered from an iPad).
Among the items I got: sashimi, nigiri, salmon, tuna, California rolls, highballs.
Would definitely come back to this place again.
PS. It was a bit tricky to find since it was in a mall (you take an elevator up to some floor, and then it’s a 30 second walk. Also note the line seemed pretty long, but it went by fast, like 30 minutes).
We went to a Starbucks in one of the really older parts of the Gion district called Masuyacho. This Starbucks is not only in a really old “house”, but you get to sit on the floor while eating / drinking (aka eating Japanese style).
I ordered a mocha, and a sausage and egg breakfast sandwich. The interesting thing about this one is that it also had ketchup in it (the Japanese love their ketchup).
We stopped by this teppanyaki place for dinner in the Gion region in Tokyo. Great find.
For drinks, got several highballs (obviously).
For food, got Negi-yaki with Japanese beef, and Fried noodles with salt and garlic. Both really great. (A friend got the mushroom and corn vegetables. Definitely recommend).
(Ps clothes will smell like food for a while unless you wash them).
In the Gion area of Kyoto, we went to this speak easy. We couldn’t easily find it at first because the front door said “Book Store”.
Got several drinks, and also tried some from friends). From the ones listed below, I will say my favorites are the chocolate espresso martini, the bees fashion (ie old fashioned but using honey and another type of bitters).
So went to this McDonalds twice (both for a quick lunch when arriving and leaving Kyoto).
Tried two different burgers. One was the Teriyaki McBurger. Got to say, I was expecting to to be an actual burger, not sausage patty. It tasted alright, but wouldn’t get it again (my friend got the Teriyaki chicken filet-o (crispy chicken) and it was pretty good).
The other burger I got (which is along the lines of Kuma Karnak) was pretty good. It was a sweet sauce, on an actual burger (not on a sausage patty). I also did get fries, and that was pretty standard.
We came here to have yakitori, and the selection for the most part was great.
From what we ordered, the noodles, chicken thighs, chicken breasts, beef, chicken meatball and cucumbers were really good, and I would order all of it again. For drinks, I had the kaku highball, and Chita whisky on the rocks.
Went here for some udon based on a recommendation from the bar tender of Auriental bar. Honestly, was really good udon.
I got the Meat and Vegetable Sukiyaki udon (with thin noodles). Sooo good. Also ate the vegetable tempura. For drinks, got a highball. Would definitely go back to this restaurant again.
Went to this speak easy the first night in Osaka Umeda (in the Kitashinchi area). Definitely had a lot of Japanese whisky selection.
The thing about this place is that they don’t have a menu (so it’s kinda hard to know how much you’re gonna pay unless you ask how much each whisky is).
I tried a version of Hibiki Harmony called the Blossom’s choice (around $400 a bottle). As well got a high ball (not sure what whisky). I would definitely come back here again (and try other whisky’s, but look up the prices online before ordering).
Also, the glasses looked pretty sick (as seen below)
