Wolf – Hanoi Station

Stopped by this place for lunch.

Wolf is basically a cafeteria that offers food from a variety of cuisines.

I ended up getting Pho and fried spring rolls from the Vietnamese station. I would get the Pho again, but not the spring rolls.

Slanted Door

This restaurant is great if you know what to order.

From what is pictured below, the crab noodles, the beef dish and the chicken spring rolls were great. I was not really a fan of the ribs or mussels.

In terms of drinks, the first one I ordered want great. The whisky sour though was terrific.

Mandarin Gourmet

We went to this restaurant, and ordered wayyy to much food. However, food was great.

We started off with the Pu-Pu platter (Ben partly got it because of the name). It’s actually a great deal if you have more than 2 people (and from what I remember, all the samplers were good). What you get: spring rolls, spare ribs, beef teriyaki, spare ribs, crab cake.

For the mains, we got the chow fun with beef, and some sort of chicken dish. I remember the chicken dish being slightly salty.

Na Siam

We went to this highly rated Thai restaurant for our first dinner in Amsterdam.

For a drink, I got something called Jonge Jenever. It is basically thicker than vodka, but a tiny bit sweeter.

For appetizers, we got the shrimp spring rolls, and Tom Ka soup. Both very good.

For the mains, we got the Yellow Curry and Pad see Jew. Although both were excellent, we were surprised that the Pad see Jew was not with flat noodles, and the sauce was different.

Also interesting to note is that they do hand written receipts.

Bun Bo Vietnam

Grabbed dinner at this place in the gothic quarter

I got the Bo Luc Lac (beef strips), and had the spring rolls with pork. The spring rolls were terrible, but the beef strips were pretty good. I also ordered a daiquiri as a drink, and did not actually enjoy it. Not sure if I would go back to this place again.

Lao Table

A great Thai restaurant I would come back to.

At this place we ordered a bunch of small dishes (didn’t take picture of any of them). From what I recall, we ordered the grilled calamari, the vegetable crispy spring rolls (I thought this was good since it was basically lumpia), the wings, and the khaw kai noodle bowl (this was basically chicken with rice noodles).

For my drink, I got their special (pictured below) called the pineapple millionaire. And yes, I would get it again (it had the right amount of sweetness).

For dessert, also pictured below, we got the mark mango. The combination of coconut cream and sticky rice, shaved ice plus mango was AMAZING!

Shangri-La Vegetarian Restaurant

A vegetarian friend was visiting, and we were hungry, so we decided to try this place out.

We got the hot and sour soup, crispy chow main, vegetarian spring rolls, some “beef” dish, vegetarian dumplings, and some “tofu” dish. I would get everything again but the chow main (and possibly not get the tofu dish as it was a bit salty for my taste).
