Ka Pao

We went to this restaurant for our first dinner at Edinburgh.

One interesting thing I noticed is that there was. I Asian staff for a Thai restaurant (of course that is totally ok).

For this restaurant it is basically family style. We got the short rib (which was a red curry), the green beef curry, the sea bream fish, cucumber salad, and the crispy chicken. I would get all of them again except the crispy chicken.

For drinks, got their version of a cosmo (wish it was a bit sweeter), and an Aperol spritz (can’t go wrong with that)

One thing we did wish though is that they had some sort of noodle dish. Aside from that would come back.

Baekjeong Korean BBQ

Wanted to get some kbbq after after work drinks, and this was close by and highly recommended.

For drinks got Soju with milk. For the main, we got the Hodo’s favorite small combo (which feeds 2, but still was fine for 3 of us), which include beef, short ribs and pork belly. All great food (they also cooked the food for you). As well, the side dishes came with fish cake and broccoli, which is what you want. Also, they had this interesting side dish that we mixed with egg, cheese and corn. Lastly, we did order cold glass noodle soup and kimchi soup. Also all great.

I would go back here in a heart beat.

R & G Restaurant

Ok, so I give this restaurant several thumbs up.

First off, they have lychee martini as the first drink in their cocktail menu. 👌

For the food, I would get everything again (except maybe the mussels). We ordered a nicely peppered Dungeness crab, hot and sour soup, calamari, oxtail, chow mein, fried rice, and one other fried dish (I wanna say short ribs).

Koja (Spark SF)

It’s been almost a weekly ritual of mine to visit Koja. My only order at Spark SF location is the chicken bowl. It’s just amazing. Has all the food groups you need in a meal, and it’s definitely an awesome fusion of Japanese food and Korean.

I almost always compliment my chicken bowl with a mimosa. The two together (especially today as it is 24 degrees) is just amazing.

Update (3/9/2018): I tried the Ahi Tuna Bowl today. It was good (especially because of the crab salad), but I think the chicken bowl is still the best. I also tried the beef bowl at some point too, and let’s just say it still isn’t as good as the chicken bowl.

Update (7/6/2018): I tried the Short rib bowl for the first time. I thought it was good, but it is a bit more expensive than the chicken bowl. At least now I have an alternate selection for this place!

Update (1/24/2019): They now have musubi, and aside from it being really good, I think it’s reasonably priced. The touch of bacon and avacodo on it is also simply amazing.
