Bepo

Went here for brunch on the second day at Hvar.

Got scrambled eggs with bacon. Eggs were great, but bacon was too salty. Also, asked for a mimosa. The waiter said they didn’t have any, but in fact they did (got “champagne” instead, but it ended up being some sort so sparkling rose). Also got a latte at the end, and it wasn’t good.

Overall, it’s, not that I wouldn’t come back here but I think there are other places I would wanna check out.

BB Club

First restaurant we went to at Hvar. We grabbed brunch here, and I have to say it was my best meal so far.

For food, got the linguini and added chicken. It came with a while mozzarella ball, and the sauce was really good.

For the drink, got a strawberry mojito (since they were out of mimosas). It was ok (would’ve really had a better experience with the mimosa lol).

Update (8/5/2021): we came back here for brunch at the last day in Hvar (thought it was that good). This time got brunch (scrambled eggs with bacon). Also got a mimosa (orange juice was hand made). Both were fantastic.

Walton’s Fancy and Staple

We got brunch at this place in Austin.

I would go back (as they have mimosa carafes), however, they completely did not have my order lol.

For brunch, I ordered crab cake and egg Benedict’s. I modified the eggs to be scrambled. However, they did not have the crab cake, so they replaced it with sausage.

Little Skillet

This place is really unique since it is primarily a bar, but has some really good brunch food.

For brunch, I got the breakfast waffle plate (customized to having both eggs scrambled). I liked everything BUT the bacon. The bacon was wayyyy over cooked (not sure if that is what they were going for). Next time I’ll tell them to make the bacon not super crispy. I did however kill my plate (so that says something).

Tooloulous

We went here for brunch. The wait was typical for brunch (about 25 minutes).

The portion sizes are very Anerican (for a Canadian restaurant). I got the cowboy fricassee, and I really enjoyed it (it had a mix of bacon, sausage, egg and potatoes, with a side of pancakes).

Kitchen Story

Definitely a brunch place I would go back to.

For drinks, most of us got bottomless mimosas (for only $20). Definitely worth it (only thing though is the glasses they gave us were mason jars. I wanted a regular wine glass).

For my main course, I got something called the RibEye Omurice. It was really good. The ribeye itself was minced and mixed into the rice. The scrambled egg on top had this sweet sauce on it that was also good.

For “dessert”, we shared a deep fried French toast (which has a cheese called mascarpone). Very delicious.

The Grove

Came here for brunch / to work. Great cafe atmosphere for working. I would definitely come back.

For the drink, I of course got a mimosa. It was alright for $8 (spark SF is still better for $5).

The main dish I had was the breakfast special. I ordered it with ham instead of bacon, and they delivered it to me with bacon. I didn’t complain, but I think I would have enjoyed it more with ham (still good though).
