Vic’s

We went to this restaurant for our first dinner in New York in NOHO.

Overall, great Italian place an vibe. Would come back here again.

For drinks I mainly got an Aperol Spritz. For food, we shared several appetizers, and also each got our own main (not 100% sure what most things below are called, but would heat each of them again).

Walton’s Fancy and Staple

We got brunch at this place in Austin.

I would go back (as they have mimosa carafes), however, they completely did not have my order lol.

For brunch, I ordered crab cake and egg Benedict’s. I modified the eggs to be scrambled. However, they did not have the crab cake, so they replaced it with sausage.

Lolinda

Great place for drinks and tapas (not. Heap, but not super expensive).

The plates to nightlight (although everything pictured below was great): the bone marrow, yam fries, ceviche (shrimp and fish), a tar tar dish (name?) a sweet pudding dish (name?), and the assorted meat plate (name?, except for perhaps the blood sausage. The ribs and regular sausage were great).

For drinks, got an old fashioned and one other drink (not sure of the name).

Wursthall

We tried out this place for a friend’s birthday.

For an appetizer, I got the Korean Fried Chicken on a waffle. I thought the chicken was good, but really didn’t care for the waffle. We also got the crispy fried potato, both the curry and onion and bacon. The latter actually tasted a lot better (wouldn’t get the curry again).

As for the main, I tried the all beef frankfurter. I would get it again.

For drinks, although this was a beer house, I stuck to drinking their pinot, with no complaints.

Paella Bar

We grabbed lunch in this place that is in St Josep Mercat.

Had a couple of appetizers and of course, a paella. For the apps we got the lobster and duck croquet, and an octopus dish. Both were great. For paella, it was the Catalana Paella, which had sausage, chicken, prawn and mussels. It was also really good.

Tooloulous

We went here for brunch. The wait was typical for brunch (about 25 minutes).

The portion sizes are very Anerican (for a Canadian restaurant). I got the cowboy fricassee, and I really enjoyed it (it had a mix of bacon, sausage, egg and potatoes, with a side of pancakes).
