Bagatella

Tried this restaurant in the Marina district in San Francisco. Would definitely come back.

First, their bread was really good. It was fresh, and the garlic butter in came with was great.

For drinks got an Aperol Spritz.

For appetizer, got the meatballs and the gnocchi. Both great.

For my main course, got the seafood linguini. Also great, but wished the scallops were the larger ones (they were just bay scallops).

Finished off with key lime pie. No complaints there.

Dumpling Home

Great place to eat in Hayes Valley. Coming at 7:46 on a Friday is a good time, as putting your name down on the waitlist only yielded a 30 minute wait (you can grab drinks somewhere else while waiting).

For drinks, only beer and wine, so got a Prosecco.

For food, best thing on there was the juicy pork bao (first picture). Would get that again many times over.

Second best was the XLB with crab and pork. Usually I don’t like XLB, but this is definitely an exception.

The pork dumpling sesame sauce chili oil was pretty good (had a peanut taste). Also got kelp (seaweed) salad. I was indifferent (would get it again for vegetable).

The least favorite dish was the noodle with braised beef. It had a weird broth flavor. Would get something else.

Overall definitely coming back.

San Ho Wan

Went to this Michelin star restaurant on a Sunday night. Great KBBQ place.

For drinks, got a plum soju (2nd picture). It wasn’t really sweet at all, Whig was surprising, but good.

We got most of the meats on the menu (wish I paid attention to the ones we didn’t get). For the sauces that come with them, only one I really liked (it was the sweet one. One of them was wayyy too spicey.

Tl;dr, would get everything below again.

Fable

Tried out this restaurant for a friend’s birthday out in the Castro. Menu is fairly small, but if I were in the area I would go back.

For drinks got a glass of sparkling wine (not sure of the name, but pretty standard), and a Malbec (friend I was with loves that red wine).

For the appetizers, we shared meatballs, pig cheeks, and a salad. All were great.

For the main, I got a double cheese burger that was well done. Thought it was pretty good (but maybe next time I’ll try the pork chops).

Slanted Door

This restaurant is great if you know what to order.

From what is pictured below, the crab noodles, the beef dish and the chicken spring rolls were great. I was not really a fan of the ribs or mussels.

In terms of drinks, the first one I ordered want great. The whisky sour though was terrific.

Orenchi Beyond

Went here for Sunday brunch.

For appetizers we got the spicy edamame, the fried takoyaki, and the shrimp. All great choices.

For the main course, I got the Beyond Ramen, and added fish cakes. It was definitely a bit salty because of the garlic, but still tasted good. I did try the soup of the original Orenchi Ramen, and I do think is does taste better. So next time :).

Harborview Restaurant & Bar

A really great dim sum place (you can’t tell by the name, but apparently the Chinese name is more representative). Quality of all the dishes we got was great (from the Siu mai and hargow to the fried rice and chow mein).

Definitely coming back here for dim sum / brunch.

The Keystone

We came here for burgers and drinks.

I wasn’t too Hungary, so I just had the cheese fries and wings, plus and old fashion (for happy hour, it was not bad).

Next time I go back I’ll try a burger.

Senor Sisig

Try various Filipino food, I decided to try this food truck.

I did like the food, but I think I got mild food poisoning from it :/. I ordered the pork sisig with egg.
