Please Don’t Tell

A friend booked this speakeasy for his birthday (they had two separate reservations to fit our group of 12).

To get in, there’s a telephone booth inside the Crif Dogs restaurant. At the telephone booth, dial 1 and you’re good to go.

The place had great drinks. Not entirely sure which drinks I got, but of course it was whiskey or vodka based.

They also had food (got one of the hotdogs. Would get it again, but without the mustard next time).

Bar Bonobo

Tried this place for after work drinks. I like the loungey type vibe, but will say I would try and get another drink than the one I ordered. I ordered an espresso martini without the sweetener (and it was not that good). There were other cocktails that seemed interesting for next time.

Versa

This is an indoor rooftop / restaurant.

We stopped by this place after work for drinks and a quick / light dinner. Got a version of an Aperol spritz, except it was also strawberry infused. I liked it.

For food for their ribs and pork bao bun. Both were great.

Only thing I’d change for next time is for us to try and sit in the outside rooftop portion, and not in the dining area (they ran out of space in the outside portion).

Ayada- Chelsea Market

So went to this place twice since it was so good.

First, there are two Ayada restaurants in Chelsea Market (both have the same menu). Tried both. One is more fast food atmosphere, while the other is more lounge-ish. I’d go back to the latter one again (but don’t mind the former).

They have a full bar. First time I got an espresso martini without any sweetener. Second time got toki on the rocks. No complains for either.

For food, both times got the pad seeew with beef. So good. Easily best pad seeew ever. Also got the green curry the first time. Very spicey (next time choose mild!). Then got the carb filled wontons and the pork belly apps (didn’t hate them, but don’t love them, so would try something new next time).

Next time would want to try the crab fried rice.

Lobster Place – Chelsea Market

First place I’ve been to in Chelsea Market.

I gotta say, even though they only had cold lobster rolls (I really like the hot ones better), this cold one was really good (the best one so far). Also their New England clam chowder was great (no food poisoning from any of the food!).

Would come back here again.

Refinery Rooftop

We grabbed brunch here, as it is the rooftop of our hotel. (And also later in the day grabbed drinks, which is definitely a good place to do that for after work drinks).

For drinks, got their version of espresso martini (they make it with cold brew coffee). It was really good. For appetizers, got the crab cake. Would definitely get it again. For my main, I went for the quesadilla. It was alright (would probably try something else next time).

Figaro

Went for dinner at this restaurant before seeing a comedy show at the Comedy Cellar in the west village.

For appetizers, got the salmon over crispy rice. Great choice and would definitely get it again. For the main course, got the scallops with trofie pasta. Also great choice (scallops were cooked just right).

For drinks, did the standard Aperol spritz (as this is an Italian restaurant).

Attaboy

We had drinks at this speakeasy.

Basically you need to stop by to put your name down, and then they text you (like 2 hours later, so we went to a place called Two Doors Down to kill time, which is also a great bar).

This type of bar you tell them what you’re feeling like drinking, and they make it for you (although they seem to have a preset menu because all their drinks they served had a name).

I told them for the first drink I wanted something with whisky and sweet, but no simple syrup. I think the drink they gave me was called Come Around.

The second drink I said alsmot the same thing, it something with banana flavor.

Prince St Pizza

As the name suggests, this pizza is located on Prince St at the lower east side.

They are famous for their square Pizzas. There was a line when we got there, but it went fairly quickly. Probably partly because they have whole pepperoni pizzas already premade.

I would come back, but I will say had a little bit of heart burn after (probably because of the pepperoni).

Rice to Riches

Stopped by this place for a snack while shopping at SoHo.

I ended up getting the chocolate chip flavored rice pudding (although really liked the Nutella or rocky road that I sampled, but they don’t have a smaller sized version of them). Would come back.
