Katsumidori Seibu Shibuya

We came to this place as our first meal in Shibuya (it was a recommendation from a friend).

Although it is conveyor belt sushi, there weren’t too many items on the conveyor belt (you mainly ordered from an iPad).

Among the items I got: sashimi, nigiri, salmon, tuna, California rolls, highballs.

Would definitely come back to this place again.

PS. It was a bit tricky to find since it was in a mall (you take an elevator up to some floor, and then it’s a 30 second walk. Also note the line seemed pretty long, but it went by fast, like 30 minutes).

Abusan

We stopped by this teppanyaki place for dinner in the Gion region in Tokyo. Great find.

For drinks, got several highballs (obviously).

For food, got Negi-yaki with Japanese beef, and Fried noodles with salt and garlic. Both really great. (A friend got the mushroom and corn vegetables. Definitely recommend).

(Ps clothes will smell like food for a while unless you wash them).

Torikizoku Dotombori

We came here to have yakitori, and the selection for the most part was great.

From what we ordered, the noodles, chicken thighs, chicken breasts, beef, chicken meatball and cucumbers were really good, and I would order all of it again. For drinks, I had the kaku highball, and Chita whisky on the rocks.

Tsurutontan Kitashinchi

Went here for some udon based on a recommendation from the bar tender of Auriental bar. Honestly, was really good udon.

I got the Meat and Vegetable Sukiyaki udon (with thin noodles). Sooo good. Also ate the vegetable tempura. For drinks, got a highball. Would definitely go back to this restaurant again.

Yakitori Nonono

We went to this restaurant for a friends 35th bday. I think the food was excellent, and price was super reasonable (below is only about $300, which includes drinks).

For drink, they have a toki high ball on the menu. Of course would get that again. They also have some other interesting cocktails pictured on their menu. Would probably want to try one one of those next time.

For the good, would get everything pictured below again, except the spicy wings, chicken skin (5th and 7th pictured below), and one of the deserts (it’s last picture, the desert on the left hand side… the taste was described like sesame… guess I don’t like that as a desert). Also, missing below is the dish that had a very creamy (pasta-ish) like sauce. That was also really good

Koku

Stopped by this Ramen place in Korea Town for a thanksgiving late lunch lunch.

Got the shoyu ramen (which means chicken broth apparently) with pork. Overall pretty good. I should’ve added an extra slice of pork though.

Also paired it with hot Sake. Can’t go wrong with that on a cold day.

Also, wanted to add that this place is a good for eating alone and working on your phone (the eating bar you can just order ramen, drinks, and sit there for a good amount of time on your phone).

Sushi Cocoro & Udon

Ordered from the place twice through door dash. This was the last meal in Kona, Hawaii.

Overall, the rolls are pretty meh (ie. Not super fresh, but still ok to eat). There is this one role that has deep fried crab in it which I really liked. Would get that again.

Daichi Ramen

Tried this Japanese restaurant in Hawaii (we had an interesting conversation about a Japanese restaurant in this state, but I guess 80 years is a long time that it isn’t an issue).

I ordered the tonkatsu ramen. The broth was good, but the pork was too salty. Also, I tried the gyoza, and only thought it was ok. The shrimp and chicken karaage were basically like breaded shrimp and chicken. I was ok with it, but definitely under impressed.

Also, unfortunately this place does not serve any alcohol.

Overall, not sure if I would go back to this place.
