Kost

So this rooftop was on top of the hotel I was staying at (The Bisha Hotel). Got breakfast and dinner (plus drinks).

For breakfast (which $60 per day was covered by the hotel since I booked through Amex), got their breakfast special. I will say the scrambled eggs were a bit more runny than I wanted, so I would get it again, but tell them to make it less runny.

For dinner + drinks, got an expresso martini which was great (asked them to put no sweetener / simple syrup). Also got macallan 12 (actually got a bunch of them because at the time, the LCBO was on strike!). For dinner just got the bread plate and tacos (tried both the beef and chicken). Will say that I would probably try something else instead of the tacos next time.

Also, as you can see from below the rooftop view was great. So will be coming back.

The Alchemist (Edinburgh George St)

This place has no relation to the SF one, but it does have multiple locations in Edinburgh.

They are known for their flashy drinks (and looks like it could be similar to Bergerac in SF where they sometimes have DJs on the weekend.

For drinks for the flash, which is basically a sweet martini and they light flash paper on fire for presentation.

Would come back to this place to try their other drinks like the Colour Changer one.

Refinery Rooftop

We grabbed brunch here, as it is the rooftop of our hotel. (And also later in the day grabbed drinks, which is definitely a good place to do that for after work drinks).

For drinks, got their version of espresso martini (they make it with cold brew coffee). It was really good. For appetizers, got the crab cake. Would definitely get it again. For my main, I went for the quesadilla. It was alright (would probably try something else next time).

Dutch Kills

After eating some Chinese food at a place that had no liquor license, we ended up here, where they have some impressive cocktails.

Apparently this place ins supposed to be know for their ice. It did have some interesting shapes and curvatures, and interestingly enough I learned about what an ice chef is last week in Chicago.

The cocktail I got was called the City Hall, which was very similar to an old fashion, minus the symbols syrup.

Other drinks I got were not so fancey (to help with recovery the next day). Those were a Prosecco, and Basil Hayden on the rocks.

K32 Rooftop Bar

We went here for drinks after working in the Apple New York Office at Penn station. It’s located in Korean Town at the top of a 14 story hotel. The hotel itself does look a bit newer and out of place than the rest of the area. However, getting into the elevator (which took 4 seconds per floor) and the rooftop itself, it didn’t feel as new.

I would say the drinks I had were given (the lychee martini was great and the glass of Glenlevit), however I would rather choose a bar that has a better skyline view and is higher (see below).

Cafe Del Mar

2nd time I’ve been here, and always doesn’t disappoint with the sunset and vibe. Music is chill, people here are chill, and drinks are great.

Went here mainly for the sunset, but also got a Pina colada and a mojito. The Pina colada was great, but I would say the mojito could have been better.

Blue Blood

We checked out this place for drinks (which is inside Casa Loma). It’s also a restaurant, which I need to check out (as I was leaving, I caught a glimpse of a delicious lobster tail).

For drinks, we started off with a nitrogen infused drink (it had whisky and some other sweet liqueur). It tasted great (and our friend knew the bartender, which made it that much better). I also grabbed a second drink, but don’t really remember it.

Founder Bar

We had some quick drinks at this place before heading out to see Arty at Union in Toronto.

I only had one drink (not sure what it was, but it was good enough for me to want to remember this place by posting about it on this blog).

Martins West Gastropub

Straight off, I thought the food and the drinks were really great. The food portions is a bit small for the price, but still I was very satisfied.

For drinks I got a martini (not sure of the name, but it had grapefruit, and it it was still very sweet), and something called a new fashion (a sweet twist to an old fashion. It had some Apple liqueur in it).

For food, we got one appetizer, and three shareable plates. The appetizer was wings (which without the sauce, I thought they were cooked really good, not dry at all). The shareables were an octopus salad (also cooked just right), Mac and cheese, and pork belly toast.
