The Grove

Came here for brunch / to work. Great cafe atmosphere for working. I would definitely come back.

For the drink, I of course got a mimosa. It was alright for $8 (spark SF is still better for $5).

The main dish I had was the breakfast special. I ordered it with ham instead of bacon, and they delivered it to me with bacon. I didn’t complain, but I think I would have enjoyed it more with ham (still good though).

Pacific Cocktail Haven

This place was great! The drinks were good for the most part, and I would definitely come back. All the cocktails were $14. (In terms of atmosphere though, for a tiki bar, it is a bit under decorated).

I started off with the tuk tuk tea. According to mark, it reminded him of Thai iced tea. Initially I though it was meh, but mixing the drink is key. After mixing it, it tasted amazing.

After, I tried the pornstar martini. It was pretty good (it also came with a side shot of vodka, which I basically poured little by little into the drink as a drank it).

The last drink I got was the miso old fashioned. It was alright, and I could get it again. However, I did think it tasted a bit watered down.

Other drinks I tried (no pics) were the Ko’olina swizzle. This drink was great, and I would definitely order it again. I also tried the banana stand, and that was pretty gross (it was wayyy to sweet, which is saying something since I usually like sweet drinks).

Urban Tavern

Overall, not sure if I would come back to this place. The atmosphere was great, but it was a bit pricey and the food was meh.

The drink I started off with was the Harvest Martini. It was basically a pear martini, and I think I expected it to be sweeter (I don’t think I’ll get it again). The second drink I got, which was a cosmo, was good.

This place had good “small plates”. We got the chicken meatballs and the pork belly waffles. The chicken meatballs came with basically a sauce that was hot sauce, and blue cheese (I’m not a huge fan of hot sauce, and a huger not fan of blue cheese). The pork belly waffles were great though.

For the main, I got the pastrami spiced pork tenderloin. Honestly, it wasn’t that great (a bit dry, and the taste was meh). The Jidori Peking chicken on the other hand was good (I should’ve got that).

For dessert, we got the s’mores sundae. That was really good.

Buddy’s

Got the lasagna. It was ok, but would not get it again.

For drinks, the old fashioned was pretty good. The merlot was alright.

Bouchon

We got the fixed price meal.

They started us off with some French pastries. From the picture below, the lemon cupcake tasted the best.

For drinks, I got a mimosa and mojito. The mojito here was better than the mimosa.

For the appetizer, I chose the salmon salad. It was pretty delicious (definitely made the right choice).

For my main, I got the corn beef. It was ok, but I think I should have gotten the lobster instead.

For dessert, they have us some sweets (all of it was good, except I didn’t try the sugar coated on pictured below).

Mon Ami Gabi

Service at this restaurant was slow, but the food was really good.

For my drink, I got a mango martini (not on the menu, but the bartender was excited to make it). It was just the right sweetness.

For food, I had the salmon, which came with mashed peas. MMM. I also got a side of macaroni gatton (spelling?). Also really amazing.

Overall, I left pretty full and satisfied.

The Chandelier

This is actually a lounge in the Cosmopolitan in Vegas. It’s basically like your in a chandelier.

The famous drink you get here is the verbatom (spelling?). I had it before, and it’s interesting. You’re supposed to chew on this flower. The flower is numbing (although I’m not sure about the taste, since I did not have it on this trip.

So, I got a drink called happiness forgets “something” (not entirely sure what it’s called). It was pretty good.

The other drink I got, a glitch in the matrix, was wayyyy to sweeet and gross (and I it’s not pictures for many reasons).

Adding to this post since we came back here the next day, and I got the natural selection and a lychee martini. Both were good. The natural selection was a bit like a pina colada.

Marlowe

Overall, I do like how this place has a simple, yet intimate feeling when you eat here.

For drinks, I got the country lawyer and a Manhattan. The former was pretty good, while the Manhattan (not pictured) was pretty bad.

For food, we shared a bunch of dishes. We got the bone marrow, the steak tartare, the tempura butternut squash, the pork chop and the cheese cauliflower. Everything but the pork chop was really good.

For dessert, I got this chocolate peanut butter thing. I would not get it again. The other dessert (I forget the name) on the other hand, I would definitely get again.

Social

This place was really good. We got this lobster pasta spaghetti dish with an appetizer of wings, and the combo made my day. Also, I ordered a Pina Colada, and it turned out to be massive. Take a look:

K Ramen Burger Beer

This place was a great place to get ramen, and also they had a full bar!

The drink I started off with was a lychee drink (I think it was called. cosmic something). It was not too strong though.

I got the tonkatsu ramen, which was good (although the pork seemed more like slices of bacon than regular pork).

We also got a bottle of champagne, and finished off with some delicious mochi.
